Preparation for IVF takes about 2 weeks and includes tests for both spouses. After receiving the test results, the doctor will have all the necessary information, which means that he will reliably establish the cause of infertility and select the appropriate IVF method.

The IVF cycle lasts 2-4 weeks (depending on the protocol) and consists of 4 main stages:

Stimulation of ovulation. At this stage, with the help of injections of hormonal drugs, not 1, but several follicles with eggs mature. When stimulating ovulation, regular ultrasound examinations of follicular development and endometrial growth are performed. The duration of this stage is 8-12 days on average.
Follicle puncture. This procedure is performed to obtain eggs. Usually, a transvaginal method is used under ultrasound guidance. During the procedure, the patient is under intravenous anesthesia. At the same stage, the husband’s sperm is collected.
Fertilization of oocytes with husband’s sperm in vitro and embryo cultivation. The eggs are fertilized in the laboratory and placed in a special incubator, where the embryos develop within 3-5 days under the close supervision of specialists. The incubator in which the embryos are located simulates the conditions of the uterine cavity in terms of such indicators as pH, humidity and CO2 concentration, temperature.
Transfer of embryos into the uterine cavity. This procedure is performed after the embryos reach a certain stage of development. It is painless and does not require anesthesia. It is performed using a special elastic catheter. Over the next 2 weeks, hormonal support is carried out, aimed at maintaining the pregnancy. After the expiration of this period, a pregnancy test is prescribed, and after another week – ultrasound control.

Approximate stay in Istanbul for 1 month.
