Biography

Dr. Gökalp Silav is a specialist in neurosurgery. Every year he performs about 400 brain and spinal cord surgeries for adults and children. In his work, the doctor uses modern neuronavigation installations, such as Brainlab. They keep track of the location of the surgical instruments during the intervention, so the doctor performs the operation accurately while preserving healthy tissue.

The doctor specializes in the removal of tumors of the brain and spinal cord, epilepsy surgery, correction of congenital defects such as craniostenosis and spina bifida.

In 1994, the doctor graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University. From 1994 to 2001, he specialized in neurosurgery here.

In 2000, he trained in the United States at the Department of Neurosurgery at Texas Tech University and the Barrow Neurological Institute in Arizona. Now this institute is considered the largest medical research institution in the field of neurology in the world.

From 2001 to 2019, the doctor worked in the leading medical institutions of Istanbul, such as Medipol University Hospital and Acibadem Hospital.
