Afksendios Kalangos

Professor Afksendios Kalangos graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical University in 1984. From 1984-1986, he worked as a forensic physician and prison doctor at Giresun Prison Hospital (Giresun). After completing his residency at the Dr. Siyami Ersek Breast Heart and Vascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital (Istanbul), Department of Heart and Vascular Surgery, he completed an internship in London and then in Paris. In 1992, he began his career as a cardiovascular surgeon at the Geneva Medical School Hospital. Professor Kalangos was appointed Deputy Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery in 1998, Head of the Department in 2001 and Director of the Cardiovascular Center in 2011. In 2006 he received the title of professor. Professor Afksendios has written over 300 scientific articles, attended over 800 conferences as a speaker.
